Anxiety manifests on a spectrum from chronic, low-grade, daily agitation and nervousness to debilitating fears, racing hearts and minds, dizziness, loss of vision and other symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks (see panic disorder).
With our fast-paced, modern lives anxiety is inevitable for any person who doesn’t take the time to relax, de-stress and regularly connect with what’s important to them. Anxiety often creeps up on us and once we realize it, symptoms have already become disruptive and/or unmanageable.
Yoga Psychotherapy and Ayurveda offer anxiety treatment without medication or as a complement to it. In session the client will learn how to tolerate, manage and eventually transform uncomfortable thoughts and feelings with breathing, meditation and lifestyle modifications. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) the client will also learn how their thoughts impact their feelings and vice versa and how to work with the mind’s narrative to alleviate their worries. Clients will also be taught how to build an energy body through self-care practices that once strengthened can cure anxiety permanently.
Anxiety is currently one of the most common complaints in therapy born as a reflection of the current imbalances of the planet. As above, so below.
