Low self-esteem and self-hatred is the result of a mis-perception of self, typically resulting from a conditioned belief system that is informed by the faulty perceptions of friends, family, society, media, etc. In today's age of impossible standards of beauty, success and "the good life" coupled with endless comparisons on social media and entertainment outlets, many suffer from diminished feelings about the self.
